BOCKlicate: a Bockbier on fire
Our BrewBQ #2 does not come across as a genuine Bockbier as it is easy-going and light, pleasantly fruity but still strong and distint – a bit sneaky if you will... BOCKlicate shows an opal-like and golden yellow color in the glass topped with a marvelous foam. Its fresh and fruity bouquet comes to the nose on pouring it into the glass already. Citrus, peach, orange, mirabelle and mango aromas in combination with a touch of honey whet your appetite for this strong beer. The first impression of BOCKlicate in the mouth and at the palate is creamy and smooth, seems relaxed, light and does remind more of a Helles than a strong Bock. The fruity aromas that unfold in the mouth act like a spell on the conoisseur from the first sip on and put a big smile on your face. A subtle bitterness completes this pale Bock perfectly and makes you want to reach for the next sip. But beware! BOCKlicate does pack a punch!
Our „Bock on fire“ is ideally suited for BBQ and beer fans and is the perfect companion for your next BBQ evening!
Brew day „Hankering for BBQ“
February 25, 2021 was BBQ brewing day and Marcel came to Bayreuth. Due to the pandemic, we only allowed a minimum number of people to take part and always made sure that everybody was wearing a face mask. In the morning, Markus Briemle, our brew master, Micheal König, our beer sommelier and Marcel, BBQ master had defined the recipe for the beer: The plan was to brew a pale BockTogether with Valentin, one of our colleagues, Marcel had drafted the first ideas regarding a name for the beer and the design for a label. After that, the actual work started: First, the malt had to be ground. For this step, the grill master had to heave the heavy malt sacks to the mill. We did leave the job of spindling the first wort and adding hops to the batch to Marcel. And when a BBQ expert is present it is, of course, a must to heat the grill, too. So, everybody enjoyed lunchtime with yummy steaks, burgers and, needless to say, one beer or another.
