A heroine in pursuit of the perfect hops

She is strong, she is brave, she is a warrior - and she has a mission. Year after year, the Hoplander goes hunting. The object of her desire? A hops that puts everything else in the shade. Her adventure holds all kinds of dangers and numerous obstacles: She fights her way through rough terrain, braves storms and rain, follows tracks and signs. Undaunted and driven by the desire to create a masterpiece: An immortal IPA that lets the chosen hops shine.

There can only be one

After exciting months full of experiences and challenges, far away from home, the Hoplander returns. She finally has the perfect hops in her hands, the Australian hop variety Eclipse. This enables her to+ create an impressive world of aromas in which the taste of sweet mandarins, citrus peel and fresh pine needles awaits. There are also sweet and sour fruits such as kiwi and grapefruit in combination with herbal notes. Her mission is accomplished - until next year, until the next hunt.

New limited series in cooperation with BarthHaas

With the Hoplander, not only a passionate fighter was born, but also a new limited series. Maisel & Friends Hoplander is a Single Hop IPA that puts a different hops in the spotlight every year. Only a single type of hops is used in all areas of the brewing process, allowing it to fully develop its aroma - unadulterated, clear, without the distraction of overly strong malt notes. While the recipe always remains the same, the different hop varieties allow a wide variety of flavors to be created.

The idea for this series arose from our collaboration with the Nuremberg hop specialist BarthHaas, which we have long counted among our “friends”. And what could be more natural for a joint project with a hop merchant than to focus on hops?
The face and heart of this unique brewing creation is the Hoplander, adventurous and full of passion, proud sister of our legendary Hopfenreiter (Hop Rider), as seen on the label designed by urban artist Vidam.

Maisel & Friends Hoplander is not just any beer, but a Single Hop IPA that is as unforgettable and immortal as the woman who embodies it.
