Hopfenreiter #8 (2023)
Radiant amber in color with a slight haze, our hop bomb presents itself in the glass. The generous and creamy foam crown already tempts with the first sip. The Hopfenreiter enchants the nose from a distance, its complexity releasing new wonderful aromas with every temperature change, reminiscent of freshly squeezed lemon, grapefruit, and orange peel. Spice notes intermingle, evoking hints of pepper and thyme. The aroma journey continues with peach, Mirabelle plum, passion fruit, blueberry, blackcurrant, and honeydew melon.
The Double IPA showcases its dominant bitterness right from the start on the palate. It accompanies the beer enthusiast throughout, wonderfully harmonious and perfectly integrated. All the fruity aromas dance on the taste buds, delighting every hop lover. The 8.5% ABV is scarcely noticeable, almost making the drinker forget that it's a robust Double IPA. So delicious, so fruity, so complex – that's our Hopfenreiter 2023.

From Symbol of Friendship to Legend
The idea for Hopfenreiter was born in 2016. Since then, it embarks on its ride through the hop forest every year. The recipe remains the same, only the hop varieties change. Different brewers from around the world contribute exciting hop varieties, making this now legendary beer smell and taste different each time. Weeks before, the beer community eagerly anticipates the Double IPA. Our Friendship Brew makes it clear that other breweries are not competitors but friends.
Therefore, in July 2023, we had the joyful visit: Five breweries brought us their hops for the Hopfenreiter and together we brewed the Double IPA. In their luggage were:

- Elixir from Brique House Brewery (Lille, France)
- Nelson Sauvin from Lervig (Stavanger, Norway)
