Double IPA and friendship brew
From symbol of friendship to legend
This is the ninth time that the hop rider has started his ride through the cone forest. Every year, different breweries from all over the world contribute an exciting hop variety, which means that the beer specialty always smells and tastes different - while the recipe remains the same. The Double IPA is the hoppy friendship symbol of the brewing scene, with which we show that we see other breweries not as competitors, but as friends. The community eagerly awaits the popular limited edition weeks in advance.In July 2024, the time had come again: five breweries visited us for Brew Day and brought their chosen hops with them. In the glass, the ninth Hopfenreiter has a bright golden-orange, almost amber hue colour. In combination with the slight cloudiness and the creamy head, the Double IPA unfolds its full splendor. The six hop varieties enchant the nose with an incredible aroma, the complexity of which intensifies with every degree. The aroma of the strong IPA is reminiscent of a variety of fruits, such as orange, peach, blueberry, blackcurrant, strawberry, mandarin, gooseberry and grapefruit.An incredible intensity of flavor awaits the palate. Aromas of sweet fruits such as peach and mirabelle plum emerge and merge into a tropical fruit basket, with other fruity notes coming to the fore with each subsequent sip. The finish is typically dry and pleasantly bitter. Slightly peppery nuances and notes reminiscent of a hint of menthol round off our hop cocktail perfectly.
